Fluorescent luminaires for hazardous locations

04 November 2008

The Eexd fittings from Hazardous Area Division, are glass metal cast fittings which can contain an internal explosion thus not affecting the external environment.
Although an older technology, these are still extremely popular in environments where solvents or chemicals are corrosive to plastics such as spray booths etc.

They are classed as Zone 1 & 21 which enables them to work in a zone which an explosive mixture of gas vapour or dust is likely to occur during normal operation.

With the benefit of a sliding gear tray and plug-in terminal block, the fittings can be easily maintained. The guard is fitted separately from the reflector allowing for flexibility of installation and the threaded access cover with “O” ring seal improves ingress protection to IP66/IP67.

These fittings have an operating temp of 85C and voltage of 220v to 240v.
