Howard Kerr takes over as chief executive

Howard Kerr, formerly Chief Executive of Calor Group Limited and Senior Vice-President of SHV Gas, Netherlands, has been appointed Chief Executive of BSI Group. He joins BSI with immediate effect and after a short induction will take over full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Group, with effect from 1 January 2009.

Kerr, 49, brings with him a wealth of international industry and commercial experience, having previously held senior positions within SHV Holdings NV and Inchcape. including extended assignments in the Middle East, Asia and the UK.

Sir David John, Chair of BSI Group, said, “The Board of BSI Group is very pleased to announce the appointment of Kerr as Chief Executive. He brings with him a breadth of international experience and knowledge which will enable him to drive BSI’s extensive portfolio of standards based solutions forward during these challenging times.”

Kerr replaces Stevan Breeze who stepped down in July.
