Electric drive market leader, Danfoss has launched an online ordering system for its VLT Micro Drive range. For the first time, Internet customers will be able to locate their nearest dealer, customise the required drives and then order the products securely using PayPal or major credit cards.

The website is being set up for Danfoss’ Northern Europe Region but is being piloted in the UK. The company has retained the services of its many distributors who will still fulfil orders and provide technical and maintenance support.
At the official launch, Danfoss Drives’ e-Business Manager, Colm Toolan explained that Danfoss has implemented the web site as a broker – matching customers and partners and ensuring secure and confidential payment. The customer does business directly with the local distributor, who can provide local support, products from stock and installation assistance. “This is not B2C and it’s more than B2B,” Toolan claimed. “This is B2C2B – Danfoss collects the customer, brokers the deal and passes the process to our business partners for fulfilment.”
