Pressure measurement on natural gas compressors

07 November 2008

The Gefran XPSA pressure transmitters use a bonded strain gauge measurement technique, to produce a rugged, compact sensor with a stainless steel diaphragm. The XPSA series offers a high accuracy and stability (0.1% of FS) and fast response (<1msec) unit, that is insensitive to vibration. The standard ranges available cover from 0 - 50 bar, up to as high as 0 - 1000 bar, with most standard process connections available, such as G1/4, G1/2, 7-16UNF and 1/4NPT.

The XPSA offers a standard 4-20mA output proportional to pressure, on a supply from 10V to 30V DC, and is available with a moulded cable or several standard styles of electrical connector, offering IP65 to IP67 ratings. The sensor diaphragm and wetted materials are 17-4pH stainless steel (AISI 304), making the sensor suitable for most process conditions. The ATEX intrinsically safe approval is EEXia IIC T4/T6, depending on the operating temperature of the sensor, which can cover the extremes of -40C to +80C.
