ReachReady says it is time to talk

26 November 2008

Speaking at the Ends Report Reach conference in London, ReachReady Director Jo Lloyd urged those who buy substances, metals, preparations and alloys from an EU source to talk to their suppliers and check they have pre-registered by the 1 December deadline.

"Even though pre-registration is in its final stages the ReachReady helpdesk is getting daily calls from suppliers who have only just found out about Reach and need our help to understand what to do.” said Lloyd. “We fully expect to receive the same calls for help from 2nd December and beyond when it will be too late to pre-register and benefit from up to 11 years grace to register products. This will inevitably lead to business continuity issues for the company concerned and its supply chain. That said, ReachReady is already working with companies that have fully completed pre-registration and are preparing to tackle the next stages of Reach - when the real work begins!”

To help companies ReachReady today posted draft letters for free access on its website for companies to send both to their suppliers and customers following the close of pre-registration.
