Yokogawa signs agreement for the FPSO programme with BP Angola
01 October 2008
Yokogawa Engineering Asia and Yokogawa Europe Branches: Sucursal De Angola have concluded a frame
agreement with BP Exploration (Angola) for its floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) programme in Angola.

Under the terms of the agreement, Yokogawa will provide project management, engineering, operation and
maintenance services for an integrated control and safety system (ICSS). Specific products to be supplied for this ICSS include its Centum VP integrated production control system, ProSafe-RS safety instrumented system, Exaquantum integrated information system, and OmegaLand operator training system.
The ICSS will provide fully integrated and seamless control and safety functions for the subsea, marine, hull, and topside facilities of FPSO vessels along with a single interface allowing operators to start, control, and monitor all facilities from a central control room. This project fully leverages the potential benefits of
global collaboration. Foundation fieldbus technology will be used to enable highly advanced diagnostics.
BP Angola is currently considering the development of up to four additional offshore oil fields. The award of this contract follows an intensive year-long evaluation by BP Angola. This is Yokogawa's largest project in Africa and the company will utilise local resources to meet Angolan content requirements.
