Flameless explosion vents

14 January 2009

The Rembe Q-Box II flameless explosion venting system for indoor and outdoor applications available in the UK from Orthos combines enhanced safety with cost-savings and greater plant layout flexibility with easy installation directly on to a flat surface.
Absorbing dust explosion flame and heat, the system is ideal for industrial plants with low pressure resistance and the need for large venting areas.

An advanced development from the company’s original Q-Rohr indoor venting system, and the original Q-Box design, the Q-Box II provides an improved max. KSt value up to 200 bar x m/s.

Two standard sizes, 305 x 610 and 586 x 920mm are available with maximum effective areas of 1100cm² and 3500cm² respectively.

Basic venting principle is to cool flame gases within a special stainless steel mesh filter leading to a reduction of expanding gas volume as it extinguishes the flame. The Q-Box II system includes the bursting panel, gasket and signalling unit and fits standard rectangular bursting panel sizes.
