Elliet Hall-Jones, UK Sales Manager for Seoul Semiconductor said, “As a leading innovator of high-brightness and energy-efficient LED’s, we were looking to appoint companies who have showed synergy and could demonstrate advanced technical knowledge in the field of LED lighting technology. SH Lightings’ product development team, headed up by Richard Gill, who’s reputation in the industry is already well known, provided those assurances by presenting a design team that was fully versed in optical, electrical, thermal, electronic and mechanical engineering, and was also familiar with photometric and colorimetric measurement practices.”
SH lighting will also act as Solutions Partner for semiconductor specialist Silica, which is Seoul Semiconductor’s pan-European distributor for their range of LED products. Silica, an Avnet company, (NYSE:AVT) provides a comprehensive range of products from 23 manufacturers along with design support and the full set of logistical and value added services to industrial and commercial customers throughout Europe.

By this appointment SH Lighting is now able to supply not only a first class range of high quality, environmentally friendly LED lighting products and solutions, but will also become a preferred partner of Silica which means that the company can now offer a complete technical facility to Silica’s UK client base.
“We are very pleased to have SH Lighting reinforce our portfolio of technical partners," commented Silica’s Technical Marketing Manager, Laurence Dellicott, "The importance in offering a complete technical service is well understood and therefore we strive to ensure our needs in this area are covered by some of the most prestigious, competent and reliable companies in the LED Lighting Industry."

Richard Gill, SH Lighting’s Sales Director, explained, “…these new resources and developments will provide an enormous boost to our technical armoury.”

Gill went on to say, “Effectively there are quite a number of OEM lighting companies that are looking to outsource the expertise in thermal, electronic and optical design and integration that previously was not available in-house. By utilising our services, Designers, and OEM lighting manufacturers needing additional development support for thermal management issues should be able to get to market with finished products that meet customer and market demands quickly and with confidence.
In practice we can help provide either the total solution or part of it. If a customer needs a complete product design and wishes us to manufacture, then we can do that, but perhaps more commonly they will need us to provide them with a sub-assembly or light engine. This will consist typically of high power LED’s mounted onto an MCPCB with on board drive electronics and an integrated lens”.

Gary Ashburner, SH Lighting’s Managing Director said, “We pride ourselves on providing innovative products with customised support that responds to our clients’ needs and that philosophy is the same in any industry or sector we operate. We are striving to be a trusted partner to our clients, accompanying them through their challenges and lending our expertise as they develop their products and services for the future”.
