Actuators aid valley water supply

18 March 2009

Sipos Aktorik’s actuators have been selected by Mavel Srl for a solar system application to aid water management in the Aosta Valley, Italy. The installations are used to protect drains and pipes from debris during storm and flood conditions.

The application confirms Sipos’ expertise at aiding management and regulation of water in remote regions. A key reason for the selection of SIPOS 5 Flash technology was the flexibility afforded by the company’s single phase actuation solution. The low current technology adopted by Sipos means there are no restrictions on cable length. As a result, the position of the solar system is independent of the actuator mounting. Complete scope for selection of the best solar site is therefore provided and, in the Aosta Valley application, remote locations included woodland settings.

As a specialist supplier of variable speed actuation solutions, Sipos has built a strong reputation for meeting the needs of both special actuator applications and bespoke requirements. The company has differentiated its product range with a number of specialist product features for valve control applications, including soft start capability.
