Intrinsically safe outdoor call point

02 April 2009

KAC Alarm Company has launched intrinsically safe versions of their WCP IP67 outdoor call point. The conventional versions is approved for use in Group 0 gas and Group 20 dust environments, the addressable is approved for Group 0 gas environments. Also at Firex 09 be their extensive range of market-leading MCP manual call points and audible-visual warning indicators for use in conventional and addressable fire systems.

Both the WCP and MCP benefit from a modular design that speeds installation and enables the zone or loop wiring to be continuity and fault tested without the call point itself having to be installed.

Also on show will be the resistor and clean contact version of the MCP, available with either 470 or 680 Ohm resistors on one pair and a normally open set of contacts on the other. Other variants provide a pair of normally open and normally closed contacts or double pole changeover contacts.

In the A-V space, KAC’s modular addressable family, with common base and interchangeable sounder, strobe or combined units will be on display in both wall mount and detector base options, as will ExitPoint directional sound evacuation technology, the evacuation solution is designed to offer improved building evacuation efficiency and fire engineering flexibility.
