Robust, reliable and remote

17 April 2009

Brüel & Kjær has launched a Noise Monitoring Terminal, 3639-A/B, created specifically for unattended environmental noise monitoring.
The noise monitoring terminals operate as part of an environmental noise monitoring system for permanent, mobile or semi-permanent observation, which can be controlled by a remote PC.

The broadband and 1/3 octave information is recorded every 1/2-second, then automatically fed to the user’s computer through the LAN connection, where they can view the results on the Environmental Noise Management Software.

The robust, weatherproof cabinet protects the terminal from weather, tampering, vandalism or theft – and means it can operate in any type of climatic environments, making it suitable for recording noise from traffic and transport vehicles, aircrafts, cities, towns and industrial sites.

This hardware joins an array of environmental noise tools designed by Bruel & Kjaer to offer customers’ direct access to results, including the company’s Noise Management Terminal software 7843 - launched in 2008 - which provide real time environmental noise recording, also via a remote computer.

The 7843 software offers real-time communication with an almost unlimited number of remotely located Noise Monitoring Terminals and streams the data directly to a central database.
