Cable glands launched at Hannover Messe
22 April 2009
Wiska has expanded its Sprint cable gland system with the introduction of new products at this week’s Hannover Fair. The company has added M25 and M32 polyamide sizes to its VentGland range preparing for bigger enclosures. VentGland is the breathing cable gland with an integrated Gore membrane, which allows for pressure compensation in only one component, which reduces condensation water to a minimum.

For larger cable diameters, Wiska has expanded its portfolio of metal cable glands by the size M75 which will find application in industries such as wind energy or shipbuilding as well as for special applications like hazardous areas or low temperatures. Other hazardous area cable glands are available in polyamide and brass and are now available as explosion-proof versions.
The Sprint system (pictured) also meets the requirements of IP69 K and is thought to be the best solution in terms of an efficient installation and lower storage costs. No matter what material, all cable glands have identical clamping ranges and therefore, use a common range of sealing inserts.
