Liquid and gas measurement at exceptionally high flow rates

23 April 2009

Emerson Process Management has expanded its high flow capacity, Micro Motion ELITE Coriolis meter offering to cover DN150 to DN200 (6”-8”) line sizes, adding to the existing DN200 to DN250 (8”-10”) line size capability. The family of Micro Motion ELITE High Capacity meters is ideal for fiscal custody transfer, in addition to liquid and gas measurement in challenging, high flow applications.

Emerson’s range of Micro Motion Coriolis meters is ideally suited for liquid hydrocarbons, delivering ±0.10% mass and volume flow accuracy and ±0.0005 g/cc density accuracy, and also for natural gas delivering mass accuracy of ±0.35%. These accuracies are maintained over the highest turndown of any single flowmeter available today.

With no moving parts, the meters are not subject to the wear or performance drift that the rotating components of a PD or turbine flow meter experience over time.

The meters deliver unmatched performance for measurement applications ranging from 6” (DN150) to 10” (DN250) process connections. The meters can handle a maximum liquid flow capacity of 94,000 lb/min, typical gas flow rate of 196,000 scfm of natural gas, and standard pressure ratings to 102 bar (1,480 psi).

ELITE High Capacity Coriolis meters have been tested with crude oil and other liquid and gas hydrocarbons in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) and American Gas Association (AGA) procedures. They have been approved by the European Measuring Instrument Directive 2004/22/EC (MID) liquids other than water (Annex MI-005) by the internationally respected Dutch metrology institute NMI.
