Light for your safety

On offshore installations and ships for processing crude oil or natural gas, safety technology has absolute priority. The ambient conditions on the high seas are often extremely harsh. What is more, the explosion protection for hazardous areas in Zone 1 must be ensured at all times.

Light for your safety
For this reason, emergency lighting systems with battery back-up are used for the illumination of lifesaving evacuation facilities, as, even in the event of the failure of the on-board power supply, they provide a reliable and safe source of light.
Cooper Crouse-Hinds offers an emergency unit, type GHG 664, in conjunction with the time-proven dTLS 850 70 floodlight for sodium vapour high-pressure lamps. The IP 65 powder-coated surface of the enclosure provides optimum protection against the aggressive seawater. With an emergency operation cycle of at least 1.5 hours, a safe illumination is guaranteed for the duration of the evacuation. Both components of this safety package are coordinated in an optimal way and approved for potentially explosive gas atmospheres in Zones 1 and 2. The powerful dTLS 85070 floodlight is approved for ambient temperatures ranging from -20°C to +50°C and is capable of illuminating escape routes and evacuation equipment, even from a large height.
