The company was faced with providing an Ex-rated approved control system for a leading pharmaceutical company.

The requirement was to indicate the health status of a clean room positive pressure system to the operators in an ATEX area.

Werma was able to offer the 741 series LED Signal Tower. A compact unit with integral zener barrier.
A spokesman for The IES Group commented: “the Werma solution offered an ATEX rated unit which housed the barriers internally to the unit, reducing the number of barriers required in the control panel, which is located in a safe area. This, in turn reduced design cost, manufacturing time, size of panel and installation costs by simplifying the wiring termination.”

Werma has manufactured explosion-protected signal devices for over 50 years. Their Ex-products are developed and designed in accordance with the current standards and guidelines and are fully certified by accredited testing boards.

Werma’s product range includes Ex signal beacons and optical and audible Ex signal devices. The products are suitable for use in gas and dust explosion endangered areas (Zone 1 and 2, Zone 21 and 22).
