ATEX lighting fixtures

18 June 2009

Cortem Group has launched the FLFE series of fluorescent lighting fixtures designed for light uniformly indoor and outdoor areas requiring limited vertical encumbering, low power consumption, easy installation, maintenance/re-lamping operations and small size.

The body consists of two aluminium alloy heads with a lamp-holder, a temperature-resistant tempered borosilicate glass tube and a white aluminium internal reflector. The ‘Ex e’ terminal box, placed in one head, allows connecting the lighting fixture with a non-barrier ‘Ex e’ cable gland.

Re-lamping operations and electric/electronic gears substitution are very easy: unscrewing the cover, it is possible to have direct access to the fixture internal chamber and take out the internal mounting plate, making it slide on its own rails.

The product has been certified safe to use in Zone 1 and Zone 2 in presence of gas, vapours and mists and in Zone 21 and Zone 22 in presence of flammable dusts.

FLFE series lighting fixtures also conform to all requirements of ATEX equipment of Category 2 for gas and dusts and they will be soon available with IEC Ex standard, having already passed the relevant tests.
