Frequency inverter range up to 22 kW

07 July 2009

Nord Gear’s SK 500E series frequency inverters have been released in drive sizes 5 and 6 with ratings to 22 kW on three phase 380 to 500 VAC supplies.
The drives maintain all of the functionality and standard features of the smaller units including sensorless current vector control, Class A line filtering, brake management, switchable parameter sets and automatic flux optimisation which can save up to 30% energy. All drives include automatic motor parameter identification.

Optional features include enhanced safety functionality to EN 954-1, incremental encoder evaluation and the Posicon positioning control module for up to 15 pre-programmed moves with easy-to-operate parameter based programming.

Expansion modules called ‘Technology Units’ include Profibus, CANopen DeviceNet and InterBus modules for direct Fieldbus control as well as an AS Interface with provision for 2 sensors and 4 actuators.

Technology Units are also available to assist varying levels of programming and operation with simple potentiometer units, basic keypad units and intuitive text based keypads, with direct PC connection for diagnostics and commissioning. For more advanced programming and further diagnostics functionality, Nord Gear’s NORDCON PC-based software may be used which also allows an RS232-to-Ethernet gateway to provide control, status and parameter setting. Development to extend this capability to EtherCAT, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP and Ethernet Powerlink is also well advanced.
