Lighting the way to safe work

19 August 2009

Offshore Europe stand number 1433 - With nearly 20 years’ experience of providing state-of-the-art, fully customised portable lighting solutions, Centaurea is committed to making confined spaces and areas where flammable liquids, gases, or dust are present safer. When surrounded by potentially explosive substances, danger levels are significantly higher.

Selecting and using the right equipment for environments such as these is critical for the health and safety of personnel. Lighting plays a significant role here.

Centaurea’s core expertise lies in providing high-quality, innovative and fully customised, portable lighting solutions for demanding conditions. The company prioritises designing lights that are easy to carry, place and use, simple to repair, and – above all – safe. Rigid construction and multiple customised features offer significant added value to professional users who demand the best quality and solutions that meet their specific needs in offshore environments.

The CentaurSlam product family has been designed and developed in close cooperation with end users. Feedback and input from numerous applications enables Centaurea to specify and deliver lighting for many different types of users and environments, in fields as diverse as the oil and gas (both onshore and offshore).

The CentaurSlam range covers virtually every need in very demanding environments both in ex and non-hazardous areas. Products are durable and lightweight, providing a strong light output and linking options in hazardous and non-hazardous areas.

With numerous different products in the CentaurSlam range, Centaurea can meet your needs and requirements. Centaurea always approaches challenges from the customer’s point of view – this means constant dialogue, as well as a thorough study of the application where portable lighting is needed.

Adding to its already extensive range, Centaurea recently launched two units for explosion-hazardous areas, which are both world firsts: the first truly portable ex-transformer and the first portable emergency ex-work light.

The CentaurSlam Trans 400EX is a portable ex-certified transformer for ex zones 1 and 21. Featuring high levels of shock and wear resistance, and a radical design, the unit makes it safer and easier to carry out temporary jobs in confined spaces in a hazardous atmosphere. Together with other CentaurSlam portable work lights, the CentaurSlam Trans 400EX makes an unbeatable package in terms of convenience and cost-effectiveness.

The CentaurSlam Hornet Emergency 18W+40W is a portable emergency work light for zone 1 and 21 hazardous areas that incorporates two fluorescent tubes (18W and 40W). When both tubes are illuminated, the unit can be used just like any other CentaurSlam hornet ex work light. In the event of a power failure, the 18W tube remains illuminated, indicating the exit route.

Every field of business today tends to get more challenging and complex. This means you simply have to expect your suppliers and partners to possess the best knowledge, know-how and capability available of their particular business field. It is Centaurea’s aim to be your closest and most reliable partner whenever it comes to portable lighting either for hazardous or conventional industrial areas.Total reliability in this context refers to uncompromised product quality, the reliability of Centaurea’s operations, safety issues, new product development for different offshore applications, and ready-specified package offering. Centaurea provides a rapid reaction to your needs – in line with our company motto: Lighting the way to safe work.
