Industry leaders have a critical role to play in delivering high performance in process safety management. Recent incidents at Buncefield and Texas City have shown that a culture of process safety should be actively developed, grown and championed from the top of an organisation. Industry should demonstrate a commitment to process safety leadership, and a willingness to promote the process safety agenda at all levels within an organisation, and externally with other stakeholders.
