Ecom Instruments, the global ATEX equipment manufacturer, is relocating its UK operation to the North East.
The company, which is a member of business development organisation for the oil, gas and energy sectors, NOF Energy, will be based at Wilton International on Teesside after moving from a base in Chesterfield.
In addition to benefiting from improved facilities at Wilton International, Ecom has made the strategic decision to relocate to Teesside to be at the heart of the region’s oil & gas, pharmaceutical and petrochemical sectors.
The company is also keen to develop its relationships with potential customers through its membership of NOF Energy and the North East Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC).
Carl Henderson Ecom’s Northern UK sales manager, said: "Teesside is the ideal location for our business and our development plans. In addition to the thriving oil & gas sector supply chain operating in the region, over a third of the UK pharmaceutical industry is located in the North East as is over half of the petrochemical industry.
"We have established good relationships in the North East from our previous location; however, being based at Wilton International will increase our contact with these industries and allow us to provide an enhanced service to new and existing customers."
