The ATEX Ultraprobe 9000 from Alpine Components now lets you easily carry out these inspections in hazardous environments, as it is rated to Ex ib IIB T4 Gb. Operators can enter areas containing ethylene or propane, without the risk of explosion when following the site’s safety procedures.
This particular model also includes data logging and frequency tuning capabilities, which enables inspectors to quickly identify and record sources of potential mechanical failure, electrical faults and leakage.
Downloading and uploading data is handled via the USB connection. All test data is stored in the included Ultratrend DMS PC software, and allows users to create maintenance routes, print costed leak reports, generate graphs, set alarm levels and much more. A trial version of Ultratrend DMS is available to download from their website, and includes an example database.
In addition, a Level 1 Ultrasound Course is being held in April, and covers theory, applications and equipment operation. A strong emphasis is placed on energy conservation, as well as practical exercises in the labs.
