Silo maintenance service a success
02 February 2010
A year on from the launch of their servicing division, Braby is celebrating the success of the complete cleaning and maintenance solution.

Silo maintenance service a success
The demand for trained safe silo access staff, able to complete maintenance work under strict downtime conditions, has enabled Braby Service to demonstrate their expertise with highly satisfactory results.
Braby Service, based in Lincolnshire, completed their first order with OCS for the maintenance of a 30 foot flour silo at the Allied Bakeries Cardiff bakery.
Contractors OCS employed Braby Service to carry out a full inspection and thorough dry clean of the internal walls of the silo.
With the use of specialist photographic techniques, pictures were taken to establish the internal condition of the silo and a full report made to OCS and Allied Bakeries.
Roger Neal, Service Division manager commented: "The specialist photography is an integral part of the service. The exterior of the silo is usually very serviceable, but the internal condition is more difficult to establish. The option to take internal pictures of a silo helps us evaluate what may not normally be seen."
The entire cleaning and maintenance project was completed in five days. Andrew Dobbs from Allied Bakeries commented: "The engineers who carried out the repairs were efficient and professional in all aspects of the repairs. This coupled with the well presented method statement, risk assessment and the rescue package ensured that there were no delays in the works. I would have no hesitation in using Braby Service if the need to carry out this type of repair arose again."
