Company named by BSIF Registered Safety Suppliers Scheme
08 February 2010
BM Polyco has been named as one of the first companies to be awarded the PPE Manufacturer’s shield by the BSIF’s Registered Safety Suppliers scheme. Under the terms of the scheme, BM Polyco has made a legally binding declaration that its protective gloves comply with all the relevant safety standards and can be trusted to deliver the level of protection stated.
The BSIF’s Registered Safety Supplier scheme has been instigated to tackle the problem of counterfeit CE certification and products which do not perform at the level claimed on the packaging.
"Often the faults with such products are not uncovered until it’s too late and an accident has occurred. Employers who have purchased products in good faith are then left vulnerable to health and safety related issues. This undermines trust in the entire health and safety manufacturing industry," commented Sarah Bridge, deputy managing director at BM Polyco.
"At Polyco all our products are manufactured and tested to the highest standards, and employers and users can be confident that they are protected by a quality product. Now with the Registered Safety Suppliers shield, our customers can be further reassured. We believe this will be an important symbol for the industry."
The BSIF unveiled its Registered Safety Suppliers scheme for PPE manufacturers and distributors at the end of last year.
