Once in place, the specialist engineers will focus on expanding the company’s presence in key engineering markets, which will lead to the creation of the additional jobs.
In addition to working with the UK and international process industry, the company also serves the pharmaceutical, oil & gas, power, healthcare, defence, mineral, chemical, manufacturing, utilities and food sectors in more than 40 countries.
It has an excellent reputation in these sectors for Safety Management, including: ATEX, Electrical Safety Management, Functional Safety Management, Maintenance Procedures, Audits and Improvement Plans and Incident Investigations.
The newly-created positions cover these business areas in project management, team leadership and consultancy roles.
John Maplesden, Deputy Chairman of TAS Engineering Consultants, said: "This is an exciting period for TAS and, following our acquisition by GSE, we can increase our position in our key markets.
"There are signs of increased confidence in certain areas of the economy and I believe it is important to put plans in place now to strengthen our position in the sectors we serve."
He added: "There is a wealth of talented and skilled engineering specialists in the North East and across the UK who we hope to attract to TAS and be part of our future success. In the last two years we have almost doubled our turnover to £2.4 million and, as part of the GSE group of companies, I am confident we can increase the pace of our growth."
