20 September 2010

Getac UK has launched what is claimed to be the world’s most powerful fully rugged convertible notebook, delivering unrivalled CPU processing power in even the toughest of conditions. The V200 is the first rugged notebook to be powered by the Intel Core i7 2.0 GHz processor, setting a new standard in rugged computing processing speeds according to Peter Molyneux, business development director of Getac in the UK.

"The V200 has unmatched capacity to handle even the most CPU-intensive software, while still performing in demanding field conditions across a range of applications," Molyneux said.
The unit is Getac’s most feature-rich notebook released to date. Built with a 12.1 inch convertible wide screen display, the V200 also includes exclusive 1200 NITs QuadraClear technology, meaning it can be operated in direct sunlight.
A LifeSupport battery swapping system allows field users to quickly change out a depleted battery with a fresh charged one. By entering standby mode, the user has approximately two minutes and 30 seconds to replace the battery.
"This function will prove invaluable to users who need to use their notebooks on the go – there’s no need to spend time closing applications or shutting the system down," Molyneux added.
The V200 is MIL-STD-810G and IP65 compliant, adding to its rugged design and flawless performance in harsh environments. Along with its full magnesium alloy casing and fan-less operation, the fully rugged unit can also be used in sub-20 degree Celsius environments.
