Marcus Halliday, general manager of UK based CorDEX Instruments said: “All of our hazard proof equipment is designed to the highest ATEX standards and is ideal for use in oil and gas environments where ignition from normal electrical equipment poses risks. The digital cameras are robust but as simple to use as every-day models with all the functions you would expect from a top end brand and also offer built-in flash and strobe for use in low light areas. We believe they will be of particular interest for those monitoring safety and will be well received in this region.”
The Centurion XPG is encased in aluminium with a viewfinder made of armoured glass and can capture images up to 10 megapixels, plus moving pictures in AVI format.
Photographs can be instantly viewed and with 2GB of capacity it can store hundreds of images which can be transferred via high speed USB.
Other products in the range include the Centurion XP Dual which offers larger memory capacity, interchangeable lenses for high accuracy close up and wide angle imaging and rugged transport case.
