SIL Assessment

Industry today relies upon safety systems to maintain and protect operating assets. From the IEC 61508/61511 standards, the Safety Integrity Level (SIL) is fundamental in ensuring a safety related system satisfactorily performs and that risk is reduced to a tolerable level. Inappropriate SIL determination can affect the safety integrity of the asset protection systems and may in some cases place the asset safety under threat. In addition to this, unnecessary spend in capital and operational budgets can be incurred. In contrast, properly defined SILs allow for significant cost improvements to be achieved in both Greenfield and Brownfield operating environments.

We can help you with the practical implementation of all phases of the IEC 61508/61511 safety lifecycle on existing and new facilities by applying our proven techniques and working methods. Our strengths are founded on a proven knowledge of engineering issues from an end user/operator perspective and on-going access to the capabilities of the total supply chain.
