Two die and six hurt in factory explosion

Two people died and a further six were injured when a boiler exploded. The unit is used to reduce worn tyres to carbon and other components and the explosion occurred when the trial of the machinery was being conducted.

According to sources, the incident took place at the Sarvodaya Hydrocarbon Industries located near Manjusar in the Savli district of India.

After installation of the machinery, the trial run was being conducted in the presence of the proprietor and colleagues.

The explosion took place in the boiler and two workers died in the incident, but only one was identified although efforts are being made to ascertain the identity of the second person. The six injured in the incident were rushed to hospital for treatment.
