Health and Safety (Amendment) Bill introduced in UK parliament

Labour MP Luciana Berger introduced a Bill on February 8 to amend the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to give health and safety inspectors the power to freeze the assets of a company under investigation for serious breaches of health and safety legislation.

Ms Berger has tabled a Ten Minute Rule Bill which would amend the Act, giving power to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to apply for an assets freezing order to prevent a company voluntarily going into administration, following the death or serious injury of a worker.
