Explosion kills two at Orlen's Lithuania refinery

Two workers died on March 3 after an explosion at Polish refiner PKN Orlen's Lietuva AB refinery in Lithuania. “Two persons died when a portable vacuum tank exploded. The accident occurred during loading of the catalyst into the fluid catalytic cracking unit,” the company said in a statement.

The Lietuva refinery is the only one in the Baltic states
The cause of the explosion is being investigated, and the company said the explosion had not affected any of the refinery’s operations.
The refinery has a capacity of 200,800 barrels of oil per day.
