New ATEX Zone 0 Headtorch from Wolf

07 March 2012

Wolf Safety has launched a headtorch for hazardous areas, the Wolf Zone 0 ATEX LED Headtorch HT-650. As a replacement for the existing HT-200 Zone 0 Headtorch, the HT-650 is a small primary cell powered headtorch with a high power ‘fitted for life’ LED light source.

CE marked to 94/9/EC (ATEX Equipment) Directive, it is approved for safe use in Zones 0, 1 & 2 Hazardous Areas.  It is also certified for all group II (industrial) gas apparatus groups, for potentially explosive gases, vapours and mists up to T4 temperature class, and group I M2 mining applications.
With a light output of up to 130 lumens, the HT-650 gives approximately 14 hours optimum light duration from one set of 3 AA alkaline primary cells.  The torch is designed for single handed switching, is water and dust tight to IP66, robust and highly durable, chemical resistant and electrostatic non hazardous.
It has a tilt-adjustment mechanism to allow the user to angle the light and uses bespoke optics giving a wide-angle beam suitable for inspection and maintenance tasks.  An adjustable removable fabric headband allows the torch to be comfortably worn for extended periods, and it has an easy-clean inert silicone strap to grip securely to hard hats and safety helmets.
