R. Stahl opens new UK premises

On 15th May 2012, R. Stahl Ltd officially opened the doors to the company's new premises in Minworth, Birmingham. Previously based near the NEC, Stahl makes explosion-proof electrical equipment for use in hazardous areas and services the oil, gas, chemical and pharmaceutical markets. Read more

Operating in England since the mid 1970s with over 50 members of staff including skilled electrical engineers, technical and sales advisors, the overall headquarters is based in Waldenburg, Germany, with offices in over 70 countries around the world. The move heralds a new era of growth and opportunity for Stahl and continues its legacy of long-term investment in the local economy and community. The newly refurbished test, assembly and despatch facilities combined with new spacious offices provide a modern and capable setting for efficiency and future innovation.

The ceremony was held by Martin Schomaker, CEO of R. Stahl group and Paul Baker, Managing Director of R. Stahl Ltd, Great Britain. 

Paul Baker made the following statement about the move: 

“Moving to refurbished facilities in Minworth gives us the opportunity to provide an improved working environment for our staff. The increased space allows us to develop the Stahl business in the UK with positive benefits to our staff, the company and our local suppliers.

“For over three decades Stahl has showed faith in the skills and commitment of its Birmingham-based work force, and staying in the area has meant that we can retain our workforce, whilst providing them with a better working environment." 

Additionally, as part of the ceremony two of R. Stahl Ltd’s longest serving employees were awarded for their dedication and service to the organisation; Ken Kesterton (31 years) and Harvinder Bhamra (25 years).  

The opening ceremony was witnessed by the Birmingham team and members of the Stahl board of Senior Directors: Herbert Schober, Robert De La Porte, Clife Hermanowski and Bernd Marx.
