Marechal Electric ATEX-compliant products include SPeX Single Pole Power connector, a heavy-duty connector designed for use in hazardous environments, and a range of plugs and socket-outlets for use in zones 1, 21, 2, and 22 with 'ed' certification.

Marechal Electric has been audited to verify that its quality system meets IECEx requirements, based upon ISO 9001, with additional singularities concerning manufacturing and test of Ex components.

The SPeX ATEX Single Pole Power heavy-duty connector

The SPeX ATEX Single Pole Power heavy-duty connector is designed for use in hazardous environments. To maximise safety, each time the SPeX is connected or disconnected in a potentially explosive environment an ‘Ex’ positive safety micro-switch operates a contactor when the plug is inserted or removed, energising or isolating the supply accordingly.
It is capable of handling a maximum permanent current of 550 A at 1000 V a.c. or 1500 V d.c. and has an automatic ingress protection of IP65/IP66 as soon as the plug is connected. Its casing is made from fibreglass reinforced thermoplastic material, with an IK08 rating and can be operated in the temperature range: -20º C to +40º C or +60º C
The company also designs, produces and markets plugs and socket-outlets for use in zones 1, 21, 2, and 22 with combined safety "ed", in compliance with ATEX.
Watertightness is automatically achieved as soon as the plug is fully inserted into the socket-outlet or when the lid of the socket-outlet is closed, without any other manipulation required. A sole gasket located in the socket-outlet achieves IP66/67 (DXN).
Casings made of polyamide (DXN) or metal (DX) providing outstanding resistance to corrosive environments, UV, chemical agents and are also resistant to shocks: impact resistance IK 08 (DXN) and IK10 (DX).
