NEBOSH calls for Oil & Gas Certificate examiners
05 September 2012
Huge growth in demand for the NEBOSH International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety has led the health, safety and environmental qualifications body to call for more health and safety experts to come forward as examiners and mark candidate papers for the certificate.

“Demand is increasing rapidly for this qualification,” explained NEBOSH Chief Executive, Teresa Budworth. “With increasing numbers of people sitting our Oil and Gas examinations, we simply need more examiners.”
Jackie Cambridge is a health and safety consultant who has been a NEBOSH examiner for 12 years. She believes being a NEBOSH examiner is a great way of maintaining high standards in health and safety and supporting the profession.
“As a Principal Examiner I also provide support to other NEBOSH examiners to ensure they are marking consistently and fairly,” she added. “As well as being seen as an important and respected role, a NEBOSH examiner’s position provides a great opportunity to meet colleagues and peers from the industry.”
Examiners for the NEBOSH International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety should be chartered members of IOSH or Grad IOSH working towards CMIOSH or equivalent. Experience in the oil and gas sector or process industries would be an advantage.
