Eight killed in Russian oil plant blast and fire

Eight people were killed and eight others injured at a West Siberian oil processing plant on September 29, emergency officials said. An explosion at about 9 a.m. local time caused the fire in the oil sludge processing shop at a plant owned by the privately-owned Invest-Oil company.in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area, ITAR-Tass reported.

The  state-owned RIA Novosti news agency said the plant caught fire after gas exploded, citing a law-enforcement source.
