Moore Industries IPX2 I/P transmitter now features removable electronics and switch-selectable output
31 July 2014
Moore Industries two-wire (loop-powered) IPX2 Current-to-Pressure (I/P) Transmitter accepts a current signal from a DCS, PLC or other control system and converts it into a pneumatic signal to provide precise, proportional control of valves, actuators and other pneumatically-controlled devices. The IPX2 now includes 22 direct and reverse output ranges, with switch-selectable reverse output as a standard feature.

The IPX2 is both intrinsically-safe and flameproof approved making it a popular choice for hazardous area and oil and gas installations. The special design, construction and materials allow the model IPX2 with the -NG1 or -NG2 option to be used with natural gas as its pneumatic supply (commonly referred to as sweet gas consisting of up to 20ppm of H2S).
The updated IPX2 also features a new, removable electronics module that makes it easier to maintain and less prone to malfunctions caused by unwanted material entering into the unit. In certain abnormal conditions, liquid slugs can enter the air or gas supply. The removable electronics module speeds the recovery process by allowing the liquid to drain more efficiently. A clog-resistant filtered nozzle and orifice also protects against clogging caused by internal debris.
