Saudi Aramco has confirmed that company data has been leaked after cyber criminals demanded $50 million (£36.5m) in cryptocurrency from the oil major. Aramco said in a statement that there was an indirect release of a limited amount of data which was held by third-party contractors. The company’s own systems were not breached, and the leak has had no impact on operations, it said....
A drone attack launched by Yemen’s Houthi rebels caused a fire at a Saudi oil field on August 17. No casualties or disruption to production were reported at the Shaybah oil field which produces around one million barrels of crude oil a day....

Saudi oil giant Saudi Aramco said that one person has been killed and three others injured as a result of an oil pipeline leak in the east of the country on February 19. The company said in a statement that an emergency response team managed to contain the leak in Abqaiq, 37 miles southwest of the company's main Dharan compound....
A fire at a residential compound for foreign workers of Saudi Aramco, the state-owned oil giant, killed at least 11 people and injured more than 200 on August 30, according to local officials. Saudi Aramco said in a statement that the bodies of three expatriate workers had been recovered after a mobile maintenance platform sank in the Al-Safaniya offshore oilfield area on December 27. Two of the dead were Indians and the third was a Bangladeshi, the statement said....
