Areva suspends US EPR plans 17 March 2015

French nuclear reactor manufacturer Areva has asked the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to suspend work on the design certification of the US version of its EPR reactor until further notice. This has caused Areva subsidiary Unistar Nuclear Energy to request the suspension of the review of its construction and operation licence (COL) application for the Calvert Cliffs 3 plant in Maryland....

Finnish utility says Olkiluoto 3 nuclear plant faces further delays 12 February 2013

Finnish utility Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO) said that, based on recent progress reports from the Areva-Siemens consortium constructing the plant, "it is preparing for the possibility that the start of the regular electricity production of Olkiluoto 3 nuclear power plant unit may be postponed until 2016." Last year it said that it would be delayed beyond 2014....
